Not much time to write here, folks. (So sorry for having a day job.) The circus trip continues tonight in Houston, and I just wanted to make sure everyone's tuning in.
It's Bulls and Rockets. Tip-off's at 7 p.m. Game's televised nationally on TNT, which, incidentally, is the only programming worthy of bumping Law & Order. That damn Without a Trace is the worst thing to happen to TV since Rosie O'Donnell.
Anyway, you've got Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady… What's not to like?
I had a friend in town last week who made the trek all the way over from merry old England to, in part, see a dear old friend (me). Well, this friend of mine must be the biggest basketball fan Britain's ever known (cue the 'world's tallest midget' joke), which I only bring up because when he was in town, he insisted that we watch as much basketball as humanly possible in a 24-hour period. I was only too happy to oblige.
Still, I couldn't help but feel sorry for him, and not just because he thinks beans and toast makes for a gourmet meal. 'Round these parts, we're spoiled rotten: basketball games are on left, right and everywhere in between.
My friend, meanwhile, got into hoops by watching the whopping one NBA game a week televised in England – at like 2 a.m., mind you – while he was growing up.
Now that's commitment. It's kinda pathetic, too, but that's neither here nor there.
So anyway, watch the game tonight, OK? We can talk about it – hopefully at greater length – tomorrow.
