Three people were robbed at gunpoint near the Loyola University campus last week.
In the first incident, two robbers approached a man in the 13000 block of Loyola at 4:45 p.m., police said.
The robbers demanded money, and one of them flashed a gun. The victim tried to run, but his assailants punched him and threw him to the ground.
As the victim struggled, one of the robbers hit him in the face with the gun and tried to grab his wallet. The attackers
fled when they saw people coming down the street, police said.
In the second incident, two women were robbed as they entered their apartment's courtyard in the 1400 block of West Albion at 9:45 p.m. Friday, police said.
Two attackers approached the women from behind and grabbed their
purses. The women pulled their purses away, and both of the robbers pulled guns. The victims then handed over their purses and
the attackers ran from the scene, police said.
Victims in both incidents gave similar descriptions of their attackers, but police do not know if the crimes are related. They have not made arrests in either robbery.
