South Side strangling victim was pregnant

Police said today they are investigating the possibility that one of the charred bodies discovered in South Side trash bins earlier this week is that of Theresa Bunn, a 21-year-old pregnant woman missing since Monday.

Authorities also confirmed today that both victims, whose bodies were found about two miles apart, were strangled before they died. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office has not been able to identify either victim.

The first victim was discovered Monday night at 6125 S. Prairie. Police said today that she was pregnant. Bunn's family reported her missing today.

The second victim was found at 1 a.m. Wednesday behind Reavis Elementary School, 834 E. 50th St.

Police said they have not yet discovered forensic evidence linking the two cases to a single killer.
