Update, 12:50 p.m. -- The Fire Department has confirmed that one of the residents of the burning bungalow dropped her four-year-old daughter from the roof. The girl was caught by a police officer.

The mother also jumped from the roof to escape the flames, the Fire Department said.

11:36 a.m. -- Firefighters are battling a West Side fire that sent three people to the hospital.

The blaze at 1107 N. Ridgeway broke out shortly after 11 a.m., the fire department said.

Police radio reports said an officer had caught a child jumping from the rear of the building, but the fire department could not confirm that information.
