Police are investigating the scene of an apartment fire at 1958 W. Norwood Street where a body was found inside.
Police spokesman Marcel Bright said police had not yet determined whether the cause of death was related to the fire which began at about 11:30 a.m. today in a second-floor apartment.
But a half dozen patrol cars responded to the scene Wednesday shortly after the fire was extinguished.
From the outside of the three-story building, broken windows were the only visible damage.
A fire department spokesman directed all inquiries to the Chicago Police Department.
