Two adults and five children were displaced last night after fire broke
out in a North Side housing development.
The fire broke out at 10:10 p.m. Monday at 1365 N. Hudson, police spokesman Officer Marcel Bright said.
No one was injured
during the fire but residents of the building had to evacuate.
According to fire department spokesman Richard Rodriguez, firefighters extinguished the blaze in about 30 minutes. It started on the fourth floor of the five-story building.
The seven people left homeless, whom Rodriguez refused to identify, were members of the same family. They were the building's only residents.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
