Sun Sentinel, Miami Herald enter distribution agreement

The Sun Sentinel and the Miami Herald have entered a distribution agreement to distribute each others papers, according to the Miami Herald. The Sun-Sentinel will distribute the Miami Herald, El Nuevo Herald and USA Today north of Interstate 595 in Broward County and Palm Beach County, while the Miami Herald will deliver the Sun Sentinel, the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the New York Daily News, the New York Post, the Financial Times, the Daily Business Review, Investors Business Daily and Barron's south of I-595.

David Landsberg, President and Publisher of the Miami Herald said the company will save a significant amount of money due to the deal. A similar deal, between the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times was forecast to cost the Sun-Times $5 million, but would still save it money, according to Chicago Tribune columnist Phil Rosenthal.
