Newsday, the Long Island newspaper owned by Tribune Co., has laid off its entire national desk, according to a report by Keith J. Kelly in the New York Post. The last Tribune Co. to learn how many job losses it was going to absorb, the newspaper will shed 120 jobs total.

"The four-person national desk was brought into the office of Managing Editor Debbie Henley on Tuesday was told that the desk was being abolished…" Kelly reports. A new "political desk" will cover everything out of the local town boards in Nassau and Suffolk counties, insiders told the Post.
