Fire left a commercial building at 4580 N. Elston in shambles Friday morning.
The building, formerly the home of the Chicago Silk Flower company, was left with a collapsed roof and a "signficant amount of damage," Chicago Fire Department spokesman Richard Rosado said.
The blaze, which broke out at 9:25 a.m., was fought by more than 65 fire department personnel from 20 units. It was extinguished by 11:40 a.m., Rosado said.
No injuries were reported.The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
