CTA column is tops

Kyra Kyles' "Going Public" column is one of the best reasons to read the Red Eye. It directly connects with one of the key audiences of this free newspaper, public transit in a way not done by either of the paid daily newspapers. Today's column discusses the CTA's mystery shopper program, which may soon open to the public.

I love it, but began thinking about the sale of naming rights at our parks and ball fields. Why not, CTA, sell husking rights aboard the trains? I love the idea that the wandering preachers and salesmen would be required to purchase the right to address their captive audience.

I can already imagine the perceived benefits. Not only would riders have the opportunity to have their souls saved, but also the agency could use the funds generated to upgrade the system in time for the 2016 Olympics. The husking is going to occur in any case, why not make a buck off of it? Win, win!
