Rich Daley's greatest hits, now on tape

Just in time for Richard M. Daley's 70th birthday, a longtime City Hall reporter is releasing recordings of the verbally challenged former mayor.

Here are some of the highlights compiled by Bill Cameron, assigned to City Hall for WLS 890AM, according to the Sun-Times:

On the media: “Scrutiny? … Do you want to take my shorts? Give me a break. … Go scrutinize yourself! I get scrootened every day.”

On schools: “There are no excuses for children to learn.”

On city employees: “They’re not customer related. They’re gonna leave at 5 o’clock … they walk out.”
