In what was surely a cringe-filled 10 minutes or so for Chicago commuters, I appeared on Chicago Public Radio’s 848 program this morning, discussing the resignation of University of Chicago Medical Center CEO James Madara.
848 host Richard Steele and I chatted about some of the possible reasons behind Madara’s departure, and what it might mean for the university’s controversial Urban Health Initiative. We also talked about how UCMC try to repair relationships with the community, using the example of St. Anthony Hospital, which has reconnected with a community that felt abandoned by the hospital.
Check back here later this week for more on that.
In the meantime, you can hear my interview on 848 HERE. It is, I swear, more insightful than I give myself credit for.
