Police are investigating the beating of a 13-year-old boy last week in Rogers Park.

The victim was walking in the 1600 block of West Lunt Avenue around 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, when he was approached by two teenagers, police say.

They started to insult the student and then beat him with a belt and a stick before running off, according to police.

The 13-year-old called officers, but he was not able to give his aggressors' names.

Then he was taken to St. Francis Hospital where he was treated and released.
