Drivers should use extra caution when traveling in these two adjacent lakefront districts.  The 1st District extends from 25th St. at its southern border north to the Chicago River.  The 18th District continues north to Fullerton Blvd. and west to the Chicago River.

The Patrol, which will consist of roving police officers monitoring traffic for signs of drunken driving, will last until 3:00 a.m. Saturday.

Besides DUI violations, cops will be on the lookout for traffice violations of all types.  During a recent DUI Strike Force Patrol on the northwest side, only seven of the 113 recorded traffic violations were alcohol-related.
