Two children injured in South Side shooting

Mapimage?mapdata=e9grxod6wxxcxmew6 Police are searching for the driver of a vehicle who who shot a five-year-old boy and his eight- year-old brother Wednesday afternoon in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

The children were outside in the 5900 block of South Sawyer when shooting broke out. They were transported by ambulance to Mount Sinai Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries just before 3 p.m., a Fire Department  spokeswoman said.

The gunman was a 5'9" Hispanic man between 18 and 20 years old and weighted 180 pounds. He wore a dark brown shirt and black shorts and fled the area in a red early 1990s 1994 Oldsmobile with a vinyl roof and gold spoke wheels, police said.

The car fled eastbound on 60th Street from Sawyer.
