A 72-year-old man was killed this morning when fire broke out in his Humboldt Park home.

Firefighters responded to a call shortly after midnight at 2633 W. Evergreen Ave. and found James Davis dead in his living room, said Chicago Fire Department spokeswoman Eve Rodriguez.

Davis apparently lived alone, and there were no working smoke detectors in the home, Rodriguez said.

The fire started in the living room, and a cause has yet to be determined, Rodriguez said.
