A Chicago City Council committee today approved an ordinance
allowing dogs to accompany their owners as they dine at restaurant
patios.
The proposed ordinance must be approved by the full City Council
next week before it goes into effect. The council's Committee on
Licenses and Consumer Protection voted to allow dogs on patios
despite the concerns of some health experts.
