CTA officials today rescheduled the agency's regular October board meeting and its 2009 proposed budget presentation to 10 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10.

No reason was given for the change.

The transit agency is expected to unveil a budget that tops $1 billion and to propose belt-tightening -- including fare increases -- to stave off a deficit of at least $66.5 million.

The budget presentation will be held at CTA headquarters, 567 W. Lake. The meeting is open to the public.
