Volunteers from Bank of America, along with friends and family members, turned out at Gompers Park and Harmony Woods today to help with the 16th annual Chicago River Day cleanup.

The 150-member group, including Bank of America president David Rudis, joined with members of the North Mayfair Improvement Association to tackle the stretch near Foster and Pulaski Avenues.

The project, organized by the Friends of the Chicago River, included trash pick up, weeding of invasive species, some planting and restoration of river paths. In Gompers Park, volunteers planted native wildflowers.
