Police are investigating a domestic dispute that left one person dead and another hospitalized this morning. 

Officers responding to a reported aggravated battery in the 6700 block of South Halsted at 9:45 a.m. found a woman dead and a man injured, a police spokeswoman said.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide, the spokeswoman said.

Police did not immediately release the identities of the people involved, or information on how the woman had died.
