Chicago police charged a South Side woman today with stabbing her infant daughter and two CTA passengers with a pair of scissors.

Nancy F. Laroche, 29 of the 4700 block of South Indiana Avenue, is accused of stabbing her daughter around 7 a.m. Wednesday at their home. Laroche then jumped onto a bus at 47th and State, Officer Tom Pollick said.

Once there, Pollick said, Laroche stabbed a 27-year-old woman and her daughter. After she was arrested, Laroche attempted to fight officers at the police station, said Tandra Simonton, a spokeswoman for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.

Laroche was charged with three counts of felony aggravated battery, two counts of battery against police officers and one count of attempted first degree murder.

Laroche was denied bail this afternoon, Simonton said.

The mother and daughter stabbed on the bus were treated and released from Provident Hospital. Laroche's daughter was brought to University of Chicago' Comer Children's Hospital and was released this morning, Simonton said.
