Driver dies after collision with El support

A 19-year-old woman was killed and three passengers injured early Tuesday after their car crashed into an El support pillar in the 3700 block of W. Lake Street.

Driver Rosa Figueroa was pronounced dead on arrival shortly after the 2:27 a.m. crash, fire department spokeswoman Eve Rodriguez said.

According to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, Figueroa sustained multiple injuries. 

The injured passengers were taken to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital. One male and one female were listed in critical condition. A second male passenger was in stable condition, according to Officer John Mirabelli of the Chicago Police Department.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
