A collision between a Chicago Transit Authority bus and a school bus on the West Side this morning injured four people, two of them seriously.

The bus, which was just starting its route, had no children aboard. The accident occurred at 7:08 a.m. at West 16th Street and South Kostner Avenue, a police spokesman says.

The school bus was traveling northbound on Kostner when the CTA bus ran a light, hit the school bus and spun it around, says Rafaela Duarte, a manager for United Quick Transportation, owner of the school bus.

The bus was  en route to pick up Chicago Public Schools students, she says.

The two victims with serious injuries were taken to Mt.  Sinai Hospital, according to a Fire Department spokesman.
