A 21-year-old man was injured Sunday morning after being attacked by a group of men with a baseball bat, according to a police report.

According to the report, the victim was walking northbound in the 4900 block of North California Avenue when the men exited a car and began hitting him with the bat. The men returned to their car and drove away, the report says.

According to the report, the victim, who was hit in the face, head and upper body, said he was a member of the Latin Kings street gang, but did not know if the incident was related to his gang association.

The victim walked to Swedish Covenant Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and released, the report said.
