Man attacked by bottle-wielding assailants

A man leaving Laurie's Liquor and Pizza Store on 5153 W. Broadway Friday was attacked by two unknown males who hit him over the head with a liquor bottle, police said.


The victim was treated at a local hospital for cuts and bruises to his face and head.

According to police reports, the man was approached by one man yelling "King Killer, King Killer," while another man struck Chavez over the head with a bottle of Seagram's Liquor.

The suspects fled the scene east bound on Foster and then south on Broadway.

The victim told police he had no gang affiliation.
