Man attacked on way home from bar

A man was attacked and robbed early on the morning of Feb. 5 while walking home from a bar on the 3400 block of West Belmont Avenue, police said.

Police were called to the scene around 1:00 a.m. after a citizen found the victim laying on the sidewalk.

According to police records, two men came up behind the victim, knocked him to the ground and began kicking and punching the victim. They then went through his pockets taking $180, ids and a cell phone.

Since the attack came from behind the man could not describe his two attackers.

The man was unsure what time he left the bar and if anyone was following him on his walk home.
