A 20-year-man walking in the 1200 block of West Sunnyside Avenue yesterday was chased, beaten and robbed by a group of young men who approached demanding money, police said.

Police who arrived on the scene as the men were attempting to pull money from the victim's pockets managed to arrest two men, ages 15 and 19.

Three others fled on foot with $277, according to Chicago police spokesman George Lopez.

The victim declined to be taken to the hospital following the 3 p.m. attack, Lopez said.
