A prisoner escaped from the 11th District police headquarters today as he was being processed on gun charges.

Police said the man, who was still at large this evening, is 25 years old, black, and was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jean shorts, white low-top sneakers and white socks.

A police spokesman said he did not have any information on how the man escaped from the district station, which is located at 3151 W. Harrison St.
