A man was fatally shot Monday afternoon in the Pullman neighborhood, police said.

Brian Harris, 30, of the 600 block of West Vermont Avenue, was shot at about 4:25 p.m. yesterday in the 12800 block of South Eggleston Avenue, Chicago Police spokesman Marcel Bright said.

Harris was taken to St. Francis Hospital and Health Center in Blue Island, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, Bright said.

According to Bright, nearby residents heard gunshots,  looked out their windows and saw Harris lying in the street, but did not see the shooter or a get-away vehicle.
