Man slain in Rogers Park

Police are investigating the killing of a 26-year-old man who was fatally shot in Rogers Park.

The incident occurred about 8 p.m. Saturday in front of 2047 W. Birchwood, police say.

Neighbors heard gunshots and saw the victim running west toward Hoyne Avenue, police say.

Officers found the man, who had bee shot between three and six times at close range, lying in the street. 

He was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where he died.

Police say the shooting may have been gang related.
