A 24-year-old man was shot on Sunday morning about 2:30 a.m. in Rogers Park near the Evanston city line.

The man was smoking a cigarette outside of a bar, in the 1900 block of West Howard, when he was approached by  four men, one of whom began shooting.

The unidentified men, after wounding the victim to the left leg, sped away in a car, according to police.

The man was taken to St. Francis Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The shooting is still under investigation.
