Authorities today said the body found last week near the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal was that of  Carolyn Schranz, 41, a Burbank woman reported missing months ago.

On Friday land surveyor found Schranz's remains in a field near the 3400 block of South Kedzie. She died of multiple stab wounds, said police spokesman Marcel Bright.

Police have no suspects in the case.
