A 29-year-old Elmwood Park man has been charged  connection with a fatal hit and run accident at the corner of Elston and Central, police said today.

About 1 a.m. Monday Jerry Carrillo was driving his tow truck north on Central Avenue when he hit a Nissan Maxima, police said. 

The accident killed a passenger in the Nissan.

Carrillo fled the scene and left the truck in Park ridge, where it was recovered later that day, police said.

Carrillo is charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing injury or death, a felony.
