Police are investigating an attempted sexual assault that occurred early this morning in the 500 block of West Briar Place.

The victim was walking to her apartment when the suspect forced her to the ground and attempted to rape her, police said.

Police described the suspect as a 25- to 30-year-old man with short combed-back hair and a medium complexion.
