Police urge Loop residents to look out for pickpockets

1st District police officers are urging residents to be alert for pick-pockets during the holiday season.

At the Beat 124 community policing meeting earlier this week, officers said such crimes are more common as the holidays approach, and that the homeless are often responsible.

Resident Maddy Fields-Gollogly said the homeless people roaming the streets under on Lower Wacker Drive between Columbus and Randolph bothered here.

"They don't go to the homeless shelters," stated Gollogly.
