A man was shot to death in a drive-by shooting in the West Side last night.

Larry Franklin, 43, of the 1600 block of South Kildare Avenue, was shot five times as he walked across the 4000 block of West 16th Street around 6:30 p.m., said Chicago Police spokeswoman Laura Kubiak.

The shots were fired from a red or maroon four-door car, Kubiack said.

Franklin was wounded three times in the chest and twice in the stomach. He was transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he died shortly after the incident.

Police said they suspect the shooting was drug-related. Detectives are investigating.
