Three teens were shot and hospitalized in separate incidents on the city's West and South Sides Monday night, police spokesman  Marcel Bright said.

A 19-year-old male passenger in a car stopped at a red light in the 900 block of West Garfield Boulevard was shot by an unknown gunman at about 9:30 p.m., police said. The gunman, who was on foot, fled. No arrests were made.

The victim was transported to the University of Chicago's Medical Center before being transferred to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, Bright said.

An hour later and about three miles away, a 16-year-old girl was shot twice following the approach of a dark-colored car in the 4500 block of South Honore Street, police said.

She was taken to Stroger Hospital and is in stable condition suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the abdomen, police said.

On the West Side, a 15-year-old boy was shot while riding his bicycle in the 4000 block of Grenshaw Street, police said.

The shots were reported to have come from a green-colored Chevrolet van.

The boy, who suffered a "graze wound" to his head, was listed in stable condition at Stroger Hospital, police said.

Police have a suspect in custody, but no charges have been filed, Bright said.
