Risk Assumption
Painter Antonio Martinez's paintings are influenced by his experience living in Chicago and his connection to his Mexican-American heritage. He says he also draws inspiration for his work from the tangle of human
relationships remaining commonly rooted in the world of the every day. Autobiographical and narrative in style his aim is to express human feelings and to assert human values, believing that no art is worthy of its name unless it contains some element of beauty.
Martinez' show, "Risk Assumption", an exhibition of his paintings, opens Friday, June 29 and runs through August 4, 2007 at Prospectus Art Gallery, 1210 W. 18th St. in Chicago.
A public reception goes from 5-10 p.m. at Prospectus.
