Here's a possible headline that sums it up, "newspapers are rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic." A Crain's Chicago Business report on staff morale by Lisa Bertagnoli notes the dedication of the Chicago Sun-Times editorial staff while outsiders are quoted as warning them to keep their CVs fresh. ""This is a very difficult time," says Miles E Groves, a principal at a Washington, D.C.-based media consulting group, "for employees to say they've come back before is to not understand that."
