The Latin school deal with the Chicago Park District headlined the February 14th edition of Skyline, one of the Lerner publications recently sold to Wednesday's Journal by the Sun-Times News Group. The article I'm referencing is not currently available, to my knowledge, on line. However the Keep Lincoln Park Public website references an earlier article by Skyline writer Felicia Dechter.
Dechter appears to have followed this story very closely, as a Google search found her associated with a number of stories about what appears to be an inside deal to award Latin School an athletic field without the oversight of public input.
Skyline looks sharp. A great color photo, apparently taken in Lake Michigan by Josh Hawkins, of the annual polar bear club dip graces the top fold. The Latin story, in the right column, is punctuated with a soccer ball and the lower fold has a story on Michele Smith, also written by Dechter. Smith was a victor in the race for 43rd Ward Democratic Committeeman. Dechter's Latin story is great stuff. Skyline has become a publication I want to pick up and read.

Hey Lou,
Thanks for running the info on Latin School (it was just recently brought to my attention) and the compliment on my piece and Skyline. You're absolutely right, have been covering this for years and hope to follow it to the bitter end, whatever that may be.
