River North residents will soon be able to hail a water taxi for the Loop or the Magnificent Mile.

Alderman Brendan Reilly (D-42) announced yesterday that the taxis will begin weekday service to Erie Park.

In addition to the Mag Mile, the taxi service will include routes to the Willis Tower and Union Station.

Passengers will be able to travel to other locations near Michigan Ave., Willis Tower and Union Station.

Service will run duriing peak commuting hours and will cost between $1 and $1.50 one way, says Reilly.

The taxis will be operated by the Shoreline Sightseeing group.
