The woman whose body was found this afternoon had been badly mutilated, according to a clerk at the Chicago Lodge motel.

The person who found the body was not sure whether the woman's head was still attached, he said.

The clerk added that hotel staff had never seen the woman. Her male companion checked in May 9 and left yesterday, he said.
