Obama continues conversation about fathers

President Obama's national discussion on fathers and healthy families comes to Chicago Wednesday with a town hall meeting.

The conversation began when Obama hosted a similar event on Father's Day at the White House.

The town hall meeting at the University of Illinois-Chicago will highlight ways in which fathers can foster healthy families and strong communities.

Local community leaders and fathers along with senior White House and administration staff will lead the conversation.

The event is cosponsored by the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships and the Department of Health and Human Services’ Administration for Children and Families.

“We’re going to discuss everything from how to build healthy families and healthy households,” said Jesse Moore, spokesman for the Administration for Children and Families.

It's not an open event, but Moore said local community groups are reaching out to invite residents.

The discussions will continue during stops throughout the United States.
