Margaret Murphy

Affectionately known as "M and M" to her musical family, Margaret has been singing professionally in the Chicagoland area for over twenty years. She developed her unique vocal style and showmanship under the tutelage of world renown tenor saxophonist Von Freeman with whom she shared the stage at many Jazz venues.

Colleagues have stated, “Margaret’s voice reminds you of Betty Carter and Billie Holiday in that from the moment she steps onto the stage....she has the audience enraptured. Then, there's that voice.....”

....One might mistake her for a new age runway model fresh off the pages of Ebony; Margaret has that kind of sophistication....she is blessed with her own "sound" and that "sound" is one that the world should hear.
