WICKER PARK FEST TO SHOWCASE
DIVERSE NEIGHBORHOOD, JULY 25 – 26

Chicago, IL – Historic yet hip and cutting edge, Chicago’s Wicker Park and Bucktown district offers a variety of lifestyle options…distinctive art, acclaimed restaurants and a trendy music scene to name just a few. Reflecting the eclectic neighborhood is the annual Wicker Park Fest, July 25 – 26. Showcasing the diverse area for a sixth consecutive year, Wicker Park Fest 2009 is presented by the Wicker Park & Bucktown Chamber of Commerce and Big Creek Productions. Proceeds benefit the Wicker Park & Bucktown Chamber of Commerce. Over 40,000 people attended in 2008!

Revelers will enjoy spirited alt-indie music that takes place continuously on three stages. Wicker Park Fest will also feature great food from local restaurants as well as unique arts & crafts from local Chicago vendors.

New this year! Wicker Park Fest has expanded and moved down the block! It will be held on Milwaukee Avenue between North Avenue and Wood Street, easily accessible by the Blue Line and just minutes from downtown Chicago. Also new is an additional live music stage!

Event hours are 12:00 noon – 10:00 p.m. both days and the gate donation is $5. Proceeds benefit the Wicker Park & Bucktown Chamber of Commerce. For more info, go to www.wickerparkbucktown.com or call the Chamber at 773.384.2672.
Calling all families! Because Wicker Park is home to so many young families, this year’s fest will include Wicker Park Fest Kids and offer children’s programming. There will be Kid’s Entertainment on the live music stages with Mary Macaroni, Mad Science and more, “Moon-Bounce” fun, a “Psychobaby Activity Tent” for kids, a toddler crawl Space by Kid City and face painting by Metamorph Tattoos. Lots more children’s activities will be featured, too. Proceeds from Wicker Park Fest Kids will benefit Pritzker Elementary School .
